Publication Ethics
TeCREA adheres to the principles established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and the Principles of Transparency and Best Practice in Scholarly Publishing. The journal promotes academic integrity, transparency, and scientific rigor throughout all stages of the editorial process.
Authors, reviewers, and the editorial team are committed to complying with international ethical standards, avoiding any form of scientific misconduct, including plagiarism, data manipulation, redundant publication, or undisclosed conflicts of interest. The editorial team is responsible for the detection, investigation, and resolution of potential misconduct, in accordance with COPE guidelines.
Suspected cases of scientific misconduct will be investigated following COPE procedures and may result in rejection, retraction, or notification to the relevant institutions. TeCREA is committed to safeguarding the integrity of the scholarly record.
Authorship Policy
Authorship must accurately reflect individual contributions to the research. To be considered an author, the following criteria must be met:
- Substantial contribution to the conception, design, data acquisition, or analysis of the work.
- Participation in drafting or critically revising the manuscript.
- Approval of the final version prior to publication.
TeCREA recommends the use of the CRediT (Contributor Roles Taxonomy) to specify individual contributions, as well as author identification through ORCID.
Contributions that do not meet authorship criteria should be acknowledged in the acknowledgements section.
Authors guarantee the originality of the work, the accuracy of the data, and compliance with applicable ethical standards.
Changes in Authorship
Any changes in authorship must be made prior to manuscript acceptance and require formal justification and the explicit consent of all authors involved.
Conflict of Interest
All authors, reviewers, and editors must disclose any conflicts of interest that may influence the evaluation, interpretation, or publication of the work.
Conflicts of interest may be financial (e.g., funding, employment, patents, honoraria) or non-financial (e.g., personal, academic, or ideological relationships).
Declared conflicts will be published in the article. If none exist, this will be explicitly stated.
Peer Review Policy
TeCREA operates a double-blind peer review system, ensuring anonymity for both authors and reviewers. The journal does not guarantee acceptance of submitted manuscripts. Reviewers must not use information obtained during the review process for personal advantage.
The editorial process includes the following stages:
- Initial editorial screening to assess the manuscript’s relevance and compliance with journal standards.
- Assignment to at least two external expert reviewers.
- Evaluation reports with recommendations (acceptance, revision, or rejection).
- Final editorial decision based on scientific quality, originality, and relevance.
Editorial decisions are made solely on academic merit, without discrimination based on personal, institutional, or ideological factors.
Reviewers are expected to:
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Declare any conflicts of interest.
- Provide objective, constructive, and well-founded evaluations.
- Adhere to agreed deadlines.
The estimated peer review time is approximately 8 weeks, although this may vary depending on reviewer availability.
Open Access Policy and Publication Fees
TeCREA is a diamond open access journal, meaning that:
- No article processing charges (APCs) are required from authors.
- All content is freely and immediately accessible to readers.
The journal supports the unrestricted dissemination of scientific knowledge in accordance with international open access standards.
Copyright and Licensing

Anti-Plagiarism Policy
All submitted manuscripts are screened using similarity detection software, such as Turnitin or equivalent tools, to identify potential cases of plagiarism, self-plagiarism, or improper citation practices.
Detection of misconduct may result in immediate rejection or, in the case of published articles, retraction in accordance with COPE guidelines.
Corrections, Errata, and Retractions
TeCREA follows COPE recommendations for handling errors and misconduct. The following editorial actions may be applied:
- Errata: for minor errors that do not affect the interpretation of the content.
- Corrections: for significant errors requiring modification.
- Retractions: in cases of scientific misconduct or invalid results.
Retracted articles will remain accessible and clearly marked as such.
Funding Policy
Authors must disclose all sources of funding related to the research, including project reference numbers where applicable.
Research Data Policy
TeCREA promotes transparency and reproducibility in research. Whenever possible, authors should indicate data availability through a data availability statement.
Authors are encouraged to:
- Deposit data in open repositories.
- Include persistent identifiers (e.g., DOI) in references.
- Provide access to data whenever feasible.
Any restrictions on data availability must be clearly justified.
Research Involving Human Beings and Animals
Research involving human participants or animals must comply with applicable ethical regulations and be approved by an appropriate ethics committee.
This information must be explicitly stated in the manuscript.
Informed Consent
When research involves human participants, authors must have obtained informed consent and ensured confidentiality and data protection.
Privacy Statement
Personal data provided to the journal will be used exclusively for editorial purposes and will not be shared with third parties or used for other purposes.
Complaints and Appeals Policy
Complaints or appeals should be addressed to the editorial team. All cases will be handled confidentially, impartially, and in accordance with COPE guidelines.
Archiving, Digital Preservation, and Identification Policy
TeCREA ensures the long-term preservation of its content through deposition in open access repositories that guarantee accessibility and sustainability.
All published articles are assigned a Digital Object Identifier (DOI) through the Zenodo repository. The journal ensures long-term preservation by depositing its contents in Zenodo (supported by CERN/OpenAIRE), guaranteeing permanent accessibility and digital preservation.
The journal also promotes interoperability and visibility through the use of open standards and institutional repositories.
Advertising Policy
TeCREA does not accept advertising or sponsored content.
Dissemination and Self-Archiving
Authors are permitted to disseminate their work through institutional repositories, academic social networks, and other platforms, provided that the published version and its DOI are properly cited.
